The Laundry dilemma
In summer, so many things change up. I wash my clothes more frequently because I at least change twice a day M-F, which is insane, I know… I’m at the point of doing something wild. I got a chance to chat with my neighbor during a game of what we call alternate side parking;
and he started off the conversation with “I don’t think the building cares about finances or notices much because we keep getting recycle citations, which they wait until they get a judgment before paying.”
I was like “true, those tickets get stacked up in our mailroom at least every 2 months”
This was my perfect opportunity to finally ask him the secret question, “Did y’all get a washer and dryer?” his eyes got BIG then he started to whisper, "yes!” I kinda knew the answer, because of their life change, aka baby, who has time to go to laundry anymore. Everything should be convenient for this NYC family. When he answered, yes, I was like, yeah, because I smell the clothes washing as I enter the building.
Now I’m thinking to myself, I need to make my life easier as well, I need to altogether ditch the thought of having someone to wash them and instead get a washer! I will probably just air dry those clothes because it's better for the environment and my pockets (lol), I don’t think anyone else can relate unless you live in an NYC walk-up and are single (lol).
This is what this means for me… No more throwing laundry bags down the stairs and dragging them up the stairs, and no more having to choose if I should wait to wash the linen another day because I allowed the clothes to pile up... Wait, you may be thinking, is this allowed in my building, and should I ask??? Okay, you’re right I have a big girl dilemma, should I call the management company to see if this is permitted, or shall I just do it because I started to smell more clean laundry in the building? My morals and needs are at a crossroads, and I shouldn’t always do what other people are doing. Please help me!
